Origami Lightsaber

Lightsaber
Original model created on 15/06/2016 - Published on 15/06/2016

Origami Lightsaber instructions and tutorial

A very easy origami lightsaber model for the 5 minutes Yoda and Darth Vader models. Yoda and Darth Vader can hold their lightsabers without tape or glue. Although if you plan to use them as papertoys with heavy lightsaber fighting, you might want to put a little bit of glue.

To make the paper lightsaber, you need a 4 by 1 rectangle, with the length half the size of the square you use to fold Yoda or Darth Vader. e.g. if you use 15x15 cm for Yoda, then use 7.5x2 cm for the lightsaber. The width does not have to be exact as the paper will be rolled.

How to make an origami Lightsaber

Here are the step-by-step instructions to fold a Lightsaber (photo diagram and/or video).

Lightsaber - step 1

1. To fold the lightsaber, first make a fold at one end to make the handle, and then roll the paper. You can then lightly roll one hand and insert it inside the handle to make it hold the light saber.

Please let me know what you think of those Star Wars characters and lightsaber and send me pictures of your models at stephane@origami.plus Thank you!
